The Digital District Repository (DDR) is an endeavour under the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav (AKAM) to collect and document the contribution of every district - across the length and breadth of the nation - in the Indian Freedom Struggle. Stories in this section can be broadly classified under - People & Personalities, Events & Happenings, Hidden treasures – Built & Natural Heritage, and Living Traditions & Art Forms.

Unsung Heroes

Paying tribute to India’s freedom fighters

The initiative of documenting the heroics of Unsung Heroes under AKAM is an attempt to recall and remember the forgotten heroes of our freedom struggle, many of whom might be renowned yet unknown to the new generation. The aim of recreating and bringing forth stories, which lay as faded memories of the past, shall not only honour the bravehearts but also serve as a medium of inspiration and encouragement for the coming generations.
